Working as a new commercial truck driver
Working as a new commercial truck driver

For someone with no working experience and no college degree, trying to get a highly paid job in the trucking industry can be a good idea. Entry level truck driving jobs have always been very well paid compared to other type of jobs you can try to get. If you have decided not to continue further education in college, or that your family finances do not allow you to spend tens of thousands on tuition and school expenses, there is no better way to start earning thousands of dollars every month by finding entry level truck driving jobs with no experience required.

It is true that local trucking jobs are not exactly prolific and popular among job seekers. But that is because trucking is a rather niche industry and not a lot of drivers are needed. Like many other good paying jobs, these truck driving positions do not attract a lot of attention compared to the usual stuff such as entry level vacancies in big companies for college graduates. For people looking for an entry level job with no experience, it seems like no employment offers are available if you have not been to college.

Get Qualified For Local Entry Level Truck Driving Jobs

If you are serious about a career in truck driving, you need to get a commercial driver's license (CDL/CDLIS) first. That is the only necessary requirement for entry level trucking employments.

This sounds very attractive because that is the only certification you need to make the same level of income as college graduates who needed to spend three to four years in school. As long as you are willing to work hard and is physically fit, trucking industry jobs are good choices for people with no experience and are undecided about their future careers.

New truck drivers with no experience can start earning a nice paycheck immediately with no college education. Some companies are willing to sponsor candidates for trucking schools to get their commercial driver's license, so you can get free training for the trucking jobs and get paid at the same time.

The expected pay for an entry level truck driver with no or less than three months commercial driving experience is over $60,000 per year. Current career prospects are good with thousands of trucking companies across different industries that require vacancies to be filled. With a CDL/CDLIS, you can enjoy better job security compared to many college graduates with not-in-demand degrees on the job market.

Yes, driving a commercial truck for 10 hours straight on long routes can get very boring and physically straining. Like many types of careers, you have to accept compromises and here you get a top paying trucking job without experience or college education. There are also flexible driving schedules such that you can spend more time at home with your family.

As a commerical driver in the trucking industry, there is no need to join the corporate rat race and compete among hundreds of entry level executives for that manager position just to earn a couple thousand dollars more each year. You can also take up owner operator trucking jobs with even more flexibility in future after you have saved up to buy your own commerical vehicles or an entire fleet and start your own trucking company.

To Whom It May Concern,

Dear Sir/Madam,

Work Opportunities: Truck Driver

My name is David Coker, and am currently living in New Zealand. I am very

interested in a driving position where I can step up, and build on my experience.

You will note from my CV, that there is a slight shift in the focus from IT to Heavy

Traffic and related areas in that regard. This was due to my living approximately

150kms from my place of work and where I have been living for the past 14 years.

I had been commuting from the Wairarapa to Wellington for this time, and not been

able to find IT or Office Administration related work in my location.

I am very interested in discussing my suitability for a position in your organisation. I

am a quick learner, and apply myself well to what I am doing.

I have strong admin skills, strong Customer Service skills and good all-round skills

and experience that can be put to use in many environments and applications.

I have a strong desire to succeed and bring with me great enthusiasm and a strong

work ethic.

Although I am currently based in New Zealand, please consider a face-to-face meeting

via Skype. My Skype address is: dpcoker-nz

You will note from my CV, that I have New Zealand Drivers License that include

Classes:

1: Private Motor Car (Full)

2: Class 2 Heavy Traffic (Full)

4: Class 4 Heavy Traffic (Full)

W: Wheels

T: Tracks

R: Roller

F: Forklift

D: Dangerous Goods.

Although I have minimal experience in this regard, I am a quick learner and very keen

to apply myself to a new role.

Yours Sincerely,

David Coker

Thanks for this post on Trucking. Trucking jobs are very important, but commonly forgotten in our society. Our country will need to support the trucking industry to help keep our nation expanding.

This is great information. To respond to David's comment above, he should consider a truck driving job in the US. There are many available. He can fill out an application with his credentials and then see which carriers he qualifies for at www.professionaltrucker.com. This is for truck drivers in the US but he may find that relocating is a great opportunity.
